August is here which for most sane people means trips to the beach, lake or mountains for a well-earned vacation. But there is no rest for the weary here in Vermont! With our conference fast approaching (August 12-14) your intrepid VCIA staff is furiously finalizing all the last minute details that go into the World’s Greatest Captive Conference – I think this a direct quote from our friends in Cayman, Bermuda, Luxembourg, etc. ;-). If you haven’t registered already there is still time by going to www.vcia.com\Events.
Perhaps you shouldn’t feel sorry for us as we are already in the mountains and summer so far has been great. But please have a little sympathy. My wife keeps asking, why don’t you just move the conference to another time of the year. Fall is beautiful, but full of tourists; winter is great, but slightly chilled; and spring is, well, oftentimes still winter. Let’s face it: summer in Burlington, Vermont on the shores of Lake Champlain overlooking the Adirondack Mountains is about as good as it gets! Come see for yourself.
Have a great weekend and, as always, please let me know of any issues or news affecting our great industry, or any ideas you might have to better serve you. Thank you all very much and I look forward to hearing from you!
