Recently, one of VCIA’s vaunted staffers, Elizabeth Halpern, was on the way to New York with her family and texting back and forth to staff at HQ on logistics for a holiday dinner we were planning.

I told her that her husband Alex, architect extraordinaire, could join us for the dinner if he could explain captive insurance using emojis only. I think he was spot on – here is what he sent:
